A tool is an object that can extend an individual's ability to modify features of the surrounding environment or help them accomplish a particular task, and proto-typically refers to solid hand-operated non-biological objects with a single broad purpose that lack multiple functions, unlike machines or computers. Although human beings are proportionally most active in using and

A mezzanine (; or in Italian, mezzanino; mezzo means 'half' in Italian) is an intermediate floor in a building which is partly open to the double-height ceilinged floor below, or which does not extend over the whole floorspace of the building. However, th

recuperator
thumb|400px|Types of recuperator, or cross plate heat exchanger
A recuperator is a counter-flow energy recovery heat exchanger that recovers waste heat in the supply and exhaust air streams of an air-handling system or in the exhaust gases of an industrial process. Generally, they extract heat from the exhaust and use it to preheat air entering the combustion system, reducing the need for fuel and boosting the system's energy efficiency.
blowout preventer
large, specialized valve or similar mechanical device, used to seal, control and monitor oil and gas wells to prevent blowout
Trickling filter
type of wastewater treatment system with a fixed bed of rocks or similar
Vapor-liquid separator-agastya
A device used in several industrial applications to separate a vapor–liquid mixture.
turret lathe
type of metal-working lathe
reboiler
Reboilers are heat exchangers typically used to provide heat to the bottom of industrial distillation columns. They boil the liquid from the bottom of a distillation column to generate vapors which are returned to the column to drive the distillation separation. The heat supplied to the column by the reboiler at the bottom of the column is removed by the condenser at the top of the column.
Air classifier
mechanical device to separate components of air
Desalter
A desalter is a process unit in an oil refinery that removes salt from the crude oil. The salt is dissolved in the water in the crude oil, not in the crude oil itself. The desalting is usually the first process in crude oil refining. The salt content after the desalter is usually measured in PTB – pounds of salt per thousand barrels of crude oil. Another specification is Basic sediment and water.
Thermal wheel
type of energy recovery heat exchanger
bowl feeder
vibrating device for elevating and/or sorting small parts
fixture
work-holding or support device used in the manufacturing industry; holds the work in a fixed location
packaging machine
any machine used for packaging
Optical comparator
a precision measurement tool that projects a magnified silhouette of a part onto a screen, allowing for accurate inspection of dimensions and shapes
coiled tubing
Long metal pipe used in oil and gas wells
electrospray
The name electrospray is used for an apparatus that employs electricity to disperse a liquid or for the fine aerosol resulting from this process. High voltage is applied to a liquid supplied through an emitter (usually a glass or metallic capillary). Ideally the liquid reaching the emitter tip forms a Taylor cone, which emits a liquid jet through its apex. Varicose waves on the surface of the jet lead to the formation of small and highly charged liquid droplets, which are radially dispersed due to Coulomb repulsion.
