Kashtin were a Canadian folk rock duo in the 1980s and 1990s, one of the most commercially successful and famous musical groups in First Nations history.

Mokotakan is an open-air museum located in Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc in the Mauricie region of Quebec, Canada. It traces the presence of aboriginal peoples in Quebec for more than 5000 years. The eleven aboriginal peoples of Quebec represented at the site are Abenakis, Algonquins, Atikamekws, Cree, Wendat, Innu (Montagnais), Inuit, Maliseet, Micmac, Mohawk, Naskapis. The interpretive village was constructed based on various buildings recovered from various sites from the eleven nations.

In Innu mythology, Matshishkapeu ("The Farting God") is considered to be one of the most powerful spirits, and thought to be even more powerful than the Caribou Master. According to legend, the Caribou Master withheld caribou from the Innu out of greed, causing them to begin starving. Matshishkapeu approached the Caribou Master and asked him to provide the Innu with enough caribou to eat, but the Caribou Master refused. Matshishkapeu then said if he did not give the Innu caribou, he would be struck with illness. The Caribou Master refused again, subsequently being cursed with a painful case of

Kuessipan is a Canadian drama film, directed by Myriam Verreault and released in 2019. An adaptation of Naomi Fontaine's eponymous novel, the script was co-written by Fontaine and Verreault. Its plot centres on Mikuan (Sharon Fontaine-Ishpatao) and Shaniss (Yamie Grégoire), two young Innu women in Uashat-Maliotenam, whose friendship is strained when Mikuan falls in love with a white man (Étienne Galloy) and plans to move away.
