Ithonidae
Ithonidae, commonly called moth lacewings and giant lacewings, is a small family of winged insects of the insect order Neuroptera. The family contains a total of ten living genera, and over a dozen extinct genera described from fossils. The modern Ithonids have a notably disjunct distribution, while the extinct genera had a more global range. The family is considered one of the most primitive living neuropteran families. The family has been expanded twice, first to include the genus Rapisma, formerly placed in the monotypic family Rapismatidae, and then in 2010 to include the genera that had b

Polystoechotes
Polystoechotes is a genus of giant lacewings in the family Ithonidae. There are at least two described species in Polystoechotes, which are native to North America. The name is derived from the Greek πολύς (polys) meaning "much" and στοιχάς (stoichas) meaning "in rows behind another".
Varnia
Varnia is a small genus of moth lacewings, in the family Ithonidae. The genus is restricted to Australia, with only two species.

Rapisma
Rapisma is a genus of moth lacewings, Ithonidae. They were previously placed in family of their own, Rapismatidae. They are mostly brown or green and the body is broad and the head is short and retracted under the pronotum. Some species show sexual dimorphism in wing shape. Species identification is based on genitalia characters and requires the dissection of specimens. The genus has species that are distributed along the Himalayas from Nepal to Thailand, Malaysia and South East Asia. One species, R. tamilanum, has a slightly more disjunct distribution and occurs in the Western Ghats of southe
