John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was an English writer and philologist. He was the author of the high fantasy works The Hobbit (1937) and The Lord of the Rings (1954–55).

Tołkiny is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Korsze, within Kętrzyn County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. It lies approximately south-east of Korsze, west of Kętrzyn, and north-east of the regional capital Olsztyn. According to the findings of German genealogists, the Tolkien family probably comes from Tołkiny.
