thumb|right|Ounasjoki in wintertime The Ounasjoki () is the Kemijoki's largest tributary and is Finland's longest single river tributary. It is also the largest river entirely within its borders. Ounasjoki is approximately in length, and the catchment area is , 27% of the Kemijoki catchment area.
Kitinen
Kitinen is a river in Finland. It flows for , making it the fourth longest river in Finland. The river flows through the municipalities of Kittilä, Pelkosenniemi, and Sodankylä in the Finnish region of Lapland. The Porttipahta Reservoir and a hydroelectric power plant are located on the upper course of the river. Tributaries of Kitinen are Kemijoki, Luiro, and Sattanen.

Luiro is a river of Finland. It is a tributary of Kitinen, that itself is a tributary of Kemijoki. The river flows through the municipalities of Sodankylä, Savukoski and Pelkosenniemi in Finnish Lapland. The Lokka Reservoir is located in the middle course of the river.

Tenniöjoki
The Tenniöjoki is a river in Russia and Finland. It begins in Murmansk Oblast in Russia from where it flows into Finnish territory in Lapland region. It is a tributary of Kemijoki and one of its tributaries is Kuolajoki which also begins on the Russian side of the border and ends in Finland.

The Kuolajoki (, ) is a river in Murmansk Oblast, Russia and in Lapland, Finland. It is long. The area of its basin is . The Kuolajoki originates in the Lake Kuolayarvi in Russia and flows into the river Tenniöjoki in Finland. Its biggest tributary is the Kolsanoya.

Käkkälöjoki
Käkkälöjoki is a river in Finland. It rises near the Norwegian border and flows first southeast, then south and southwest/west until it enters the Ounasjoki River. The confluence is about from the village Hetta.
Värriöjoki

Vaalajärvi
Vaalajärvi is a medium-sized lake in the Kemijoki main catchment area. It is located in Sodankylä municipality in the region Lapland in Finland. In the area there is a canoeing route lake Vaalajärvi–river Jeesiöjoki–river Kitinen.
