Päijänne
Päijänne () is the second largest lake in Finland (). The lake drains into the Gulf of Finland via the Kymi River. The major islands are from north to south Vuoritsalo, Muuratsalo, Onkisalo, Judinsalo, Edessalo, Taivassalo, Haukkasalo, Vehkasalo, Mustassalo, Virmailansaari and Salonsaari. The largest island is Virmailansaari. The word saari means an island. Salo once meant a great island, nowadays it means a great forest area.
Kymi River
Kymijoki () is a river in Finland. It begins at Lake Päijänne, flows through the provinces of Päijänne Tavastia, Uusimaa and Kymenlaakso, and discharges into the Gulf of Finland. The river passes the towns of Heinola and Kouvola. The town of Kotka is located on the river delta. The length of the river is , but its drainage basin of extends to almost inside the Tavastia, Central Finland, Savonia and Ostrobothnia. Puula
Puula (or Puulavesi) is a lake in the Kymi River area in the Finnish municipalities of Hirvensalmi, Kangasniemi and Mikkeli. Puula is above sea level, with a surface area of . It is deep at its deepest point, located near Porttisalmi at Simpiänselkä, which is the biggest open area of the lake. Two big lakes Suontee and Puula were one lake until year 1854, when the water level was lowered 2.5 meters. This brought geological stacks above the surface, which are formed by water.
Nilakka
Nilakka is a rather large lake in Northern Savonia, Finland. With the area of nearly 169 km2 it is the 25th largest lake in the country. It's a shallow lake, connected by canals to upper Lake Pielavesi and lower Iisvesi.

Karikkoselkä
Karikkoselkä is a lake formed in an impact crater in Petäjävesi, Finland. Karikkoselkä is located in Central Finland approximately 30 km east from the centre of Keurusselkä, a much older and larger impact crater. Most lakes in the region are elongated in northwest–southeast direction due to glaciation, but Karikkoselkä is strikingly round.

Iso-Naakkima
Iso-Naakkima is a lake in Southern Savonia, Finland, about 10 km south of the town of Pieksämäki. It is notable for having an eroded impact crater under the northwestern part of the lake. It is one of the oldest known, about 1200 million years old (900–1200 Ma, Mesoproterozoic). Of the known craters older than a billion years old, it is also one of the smallest being only 3 km in diameter.
Iisvesi
Iisvesi is a rather large lake in Finland. The lake consists of three separate basins: Iisvesi, Virmasvesi and Rasvanki. Located within Tervo, Rautalampi, Suonenjoki and northern Kuopio in a sparsely populated area, its waters are generally pretty clear.

Palokkajärvi () is a lake in Jyväskylä, Finland, covering an area of . The lake is mostly open in shape, with the exception of the Tyyppälänlahti bay in its eastern part extending towards Seppälänkangas. There is also a single island called Palosaari in its mid-western part.

Saraavesi
Saraavesi is a medium-sized lake in Laukaa, Finland. It flows to lake Leppävesi via Kuhankoski rapids. The lake is part of Keitele Canal, a waterway connecting Lake Keitele and Päijänne. Saraakallio rock paintings are located on the shore of Saraavesi.
