Lindsaeaceae

Lindsaeaceae is a pantropical family of ferns in the order Polypodiales. It contains six or seven genera with about 220 known species, some of which also extend into the more temperate regions of eastern Asia, New Zealand, and South America.

Lindsaea, common name necklace fern, is a genus of around 180 species of fern, 15 of which reach Australia. The name is in honour of surgeon John Lindsay of Jamaica. The genus is sometimes spelt Lindsaya.

Osmolindsaea is a genus of ferns in the family Lindsaeaceae. Most species are found in southeastern Asia, from West Himalaya and Sri Lanka to Japan and New Guinea. Osmolindsaea latisquama and Osmolindsaea leptolepida (which may be synonymous) are found in Madagascar and the adjacent African mainland.

Xyropteris is a genus of ferns in the family Lindsaeaceae. It has a single described species, Xyropteris stortii, native to Sumatra and Borneo. Some sources do not recognize the genus Xyropteris, placing the species in Lindsaea as Lindsaea stortii.

Nesolindsaea is a genus of ferns in the family Lindsaeaceae with two species. Nesolindsaea caudata is native to southeast tropical Asia, from Sri Lanka to Borneo. Nesolindsaea kirkii is found only in the Seychelles.
