Datis
Datis or Datus (, Old Iranian: *Dātiya-, Achaemenid Elamite: Da-ti-ya) was a Median noble and admiral who served the Persian Empire during the reign of Darius the Great (522–486 BC). He is known for his role in leading the Persian amphibious expedition against Greece in 490 BC during the Greco-Persian Wars. Along with Darius's nephew Artaphernes, he was tasked with subduing Eretria and Athens, succeeding the previously defeated Mardonius.

Mazares (Median: Mazdara, ) was a Median general who defected to Cyrus the Great when the latter overthrew the Median king Astyages and formed the Persian Empire. Mazares is mentioned by Herodotus as a Median general in the service of Cyrus the Great who died while putting down a revolt in Asia Minor.

According to Ctesias, Arbaces was one of the generals of Sardanapalus, king of Assyria and founder of the Median Empire about 830 BC.
Kashtariti
Kaštaritu (; ; fl. 670s BCE) was a Median chieftain. He is mentioned as "King of the Medes" in an inscription dated 678 BCE. His lands were presumably located along the northeastern border of Assyria. Amongst his possessions was the city of Kār-Kaššî. Kaštariti forged an alliance of the Medes with the Cimmerians, Mannaeans, and Scythians against Assyria.
