Mesitornis is a genus of birds in the family Mesitornithidae. Its two members, the white-breasted mesite and the brown mesite, are endemic to Madagascar, and both are classified as vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red list of Threatened species. The third mesite species, the subdesert mesite, is the sole member of the genus Monias.
