second series and epoch of the Jurassic system and period

Monolophosaurus
Monolophosaurus ( ; meaning "single-crested lizard") is an extinct genus of tetanuran theropod dinosaur from the Middle Jurassic Shishugou Formation in what is now Xinjiang, China. It was named for the single crest on top of its skull. Monolophosaurus was a mid-sized theropod at about long and weighed .

Omeisaurus
Omeisaurus (meaning "Omei lizard") is a genus of sauropod dinosaur from the Middle to Late Jurassic Period (Bathonian-Oxfordian stage) of what is now China. Its name comes from Mount Emei, where it was discovered in the lower Shaximiao Formation of Sichuan Province.

Jobaria
Jobaria is a genus of sauropod dinosaur that lived in what is now Niger during the middle Jurassic Period, between 164 and 161 million years ago. Jobaria is currently the only known valid sauropod from the Tiouraren, where it was discovered in 1997.

Atlasaurus imelakei
Atlasaurus is a genus of sauropod dinosaurs from Middle Jurassic (Bathonian to Callovian stages) beds in North Africa.

Archaeodontosaurus

Archaeodontosaurus ("ancient-toothed lizard") is a genus of sauropod dinosaur from the Middle Jurassic. Its fossils were found in the Isalo III Formation of Madagascar. The type species, Archaeodontosaurus descouensi, was described in September 2005. The specific name honours the collector, Didier Descouens. It is a probable sauropod, with prosauropod-like teeth. It may be a basal member of Gravisauria.

Spinophorosaurus
Spinophorosaurus is a genus of sauropod dinosaur that lived in what is now Niger during the Middle Jurassic period. The first two specimens were excavated in the 2000s by German and Spanish teams under difficult conditions. The skeletons were brought to Europe and digitally replicated, making Spinophorosaurus the first sauropod to have its skeleton 3D printed, and were to be returned to Niger in the future. Together, the two specimens represented most of the skeleton of the genus, and one of the most completely known basal sauropods of its time and place. The first skeleton was made the holoty

Adratiklit
Adratiklit (meaning "mountain lizard") is an extinct genus of stegosaurian dinosaur that lived on the supercontinent Gondwana during the Middle Jurassic (Bathonian age). The genus contains a single species, Adratiklit boulahfa. Its remains were found in the El Mers III Formation, near Boulemane in north Morocco.

Spinostropheus
Spinostropheus is a genus of theropod dinosaur that lived in the Middle Jurassic period and has been found in the Tiourarén Formation, Niger. The type and only species is S. gautieri.

Spicomellus
Spicomellus is an extinct genus of unusual early ankylosaurian dinosaur from the El Mers III Formation (Bathonian age) of Morocco. The genus contains a single species, Spicomellus afer, representing the oldest named definitive ankylosaur. The species was initially described in 2021 based on a single rib with fused osteoderms, rendering its life appearance and relationships uncertain. In 2025, several additional bones, including osteoderms and cranial and postcranial remains, were described, revealing that it bears a unique array of spines over the body, including extremely elongated spikes aro

Lingwulong
Lingwulong is a genus of diplodocoid sauropod dinosaur from the Middle Jurassic of what is now Lingwu, Yinchuan, Ningxia, China. The type and only species is L. shenqi, known from several partial skeletons. It is one of the earliest neosauropods ever discovered, as well as the only definitive diplodocoid from east Asia.
Eomamenchisaurus
Eomamenchisaurus (meaning "dawn Mamenchisaurus") is a genus of mamenchisaurid sauropod dinosaur from the Middle Jurassic Zhanghe Formation of Yuanmou, Yunnan, China. The type species is E. yuanmouensis, described by Lü Junchang and colleagues in 2008.

Analong
Analong is an extinct genus of mamenchisaurid sauropod from the Chuanjie Formation in Yunnan, China. The type and only species is Analong chuanjieensis.
==Discovery and naming==
The fossils of Analong has a relatively convoluted history. The skeletons of two giant sauropods were discovered in 1995 by Tao Wang, who was working with the Lufeng Dinosaur Museum. The fossils were found in the village of A'na and the town of Chuanjie in the Lufeng County of Yunnan. The local villagers built a small shelter around the fossils because they could not be immediately excavated. They remained in situ for

Anhuilong
Anhuilong (meaning "Anhui dragon") is a genus of mamenchisaurid dinosaur known from the Hongqin Formation of Anhui province, China. The genus contains a single species, Anhuilong diboensis.
Thyreosaurus
Thyreosaurus is an extinct genus of stegosaurian dinosaur from the Middle Jurassic El Mers III Formation of Morocco. The genus contains a single species, Thyreosaurus atlasicus, known from a partial disarticulated skeleton consisting of several dorsal vertebrae, ribs, a limb bone, and dermal bones. Thyreosaurus is characterized by a unique dermal armor with an asymmetrical texture, indicating that it may have been recumbent. Alongside Adratiklit, Thyreosaurus increases the diversity of unique stegosaurs occurring in the Middle Jurassic of Africa.
Tharosaurus
Tharosaurus (meaning "Thar Desert lizard") is an extinct genus of potentially dubious eusauropod sauropod dinosaurs from the Middle Jurassic Jaisalmer Formation of India. The genus contains a single species, Tharosaurus indicus, known from a fragmentary skeleton including several vertebrae and a rib. When it was named in 2023, Tharosaurus was interpreted as the earliest known diplodocoid and the first member of this clade described from India. However, a later revision of the fossil material argued for a position outside of this clade, as an indeterminate eusauropod. This revision could not fi
Narindasaurus
Narindasaurus (meaning "Narinda Bay lizard") is a genus of turiasaurian sauropod dinosaur from the Middle Jurassic Isalo III Formation of Madagascar. The type and only species is Narindasaurus thevenini. The only known specimen of the genus was first described in 1907, but it was not formally named as a distinct species until 2020.
Huangshanlong
Huangshanlong (meaning "Huangshan dragon") is a genus of mamenchisaurid dinosaurs native to the Anhui province of China. It contains a single species, Huangshanlong anhuiensis, which represents, along with Anhuilong and Wannanosaurus, one of the three dinosaurs found in Anhui province.
Huashanosaurus
Huashanosaurus (meaning "Huashan Mountain lizard") is an extinct genus of eusauropod sauropod dinosaurs known from the Early–Middle Jurassic Wangmen Formation of China. The genus contains a single species, Huashanosaurus qini, known from a fragmentary partial skeleton.
