Sauherad
Sauherad is a former municipality in Telemark county, Norway. It was part of the traditional region of Midt-Telemark. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 2020. The area is now part of Midt-Telemark Municipality and Notodden Municipality. The administrative centre was the village of Akkerhaugen. Other villages in the municipality included Gvarv, Holtsås, Hjukse, Hjuksebø, Nordagutu, and Sauherad. Sauherad bordered the municipalities of Kongsberg, Skien, Nome, Bø, and Notodden.

Gvarv is a village in the municipality Midt-Telemark in Telemark county, Norway. The village is located along the river Gvarvelva, just from where the river empties into the large lake Norsjø. The village of Bø lies about to the northwest, the village of Akkerhaugen lies about to the east, and the village of Ulefoss lies about to the southeast.

Seljordsvatn
Seljordsvatnet () is a lake in Seljord Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. A small part of the very far eastern edge of the lake crosses over into Midt-Telemark Municipality. The lake is part of the Skien watershed. The lake's main inflow is the river Vallaråi and the lake drains through the river Bøelva. According to local folklore, Selma the sea serpent () lives in the lake.
Nordagutu
Nordagutu is a village in Midt-Telemark Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. The village is located along the river Sauarelva, just south of the southern end of the lake Heddalsvatnet. The village of lies about south of the village of Holtsås, about northeast of the village of Akkerhaugen, and just across the river from the village of Sauherad.

Akkerhaugen
Akkerhaugen is a village in Midt-Telemark Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. The village is located at the mouth of the river Sauarelva where it empties into the north end of the large lake Norsjø. The village of Sauherad lies about to the north, the village of Nordagutu lies about to the northeast, and the village of Gvarv is located about to the west.
