Missolonghi
Missolonghi or Mesolongi (, ) is a town in western Greece. It is the capital of the Aetolia-Acarnania regional unit, and the seat of the municipality of Iera Polis Mesolongiou (). According to the 2021 census, the municipality has a population of 32,048 people, of whom 13,965 live in the town of Missolonghi. Missolonghi is known as the site of a dramatic siege during the Greek War of Independence, which resulted in the death of poet Lord Byron.

Aitoliko
Aitoliko (Greek: Αιτωλικό) is a town and a former municipality in Aetolia-Acarnania, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform, it is part of the municipality Messolonghi, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 129,305 m2. It is located north of the Acheloos delta. The Greek National Road 5/E55 passes through the municipal unit. It is located SW of Agrinion, about 20 km NW of Messolonghi, W of Nafpaktos and the Rio-Antirrio bridge and SE of Astakos. Until it became a part of Greece, it was known as Anatoliko (Ανατολικό), meaning eastern.

Tourlida

Tourlida is the largest lagoon island of Missolonghi lagoon and the only inhabited one. Its population was 15 according to 2011 census. Stilt houses built on piles by local fishermen are called Pelades (Πελάδες) in Greek.
Evinochori
Evinochori () is a village and a community in the southern part of Aetolia-Acarnania, Greece. Evinochori is in the municipality of Missolonghi, located 10 km east of Missolonghi town centre. It is situated on the right bank of the river Evinos, about 10 km north of its outflow into the Ionian Sea. The community includes the village Nea Kalydona. Near Evinochori are the ruins of ancient Calydon, one of the most famous ancient cities in Aetolia.
