Monotypic Boletales genera

page 1
Bothia
Bothia is a fungal genus in the family Boletaceae. A monotypic genus, it contains the single species Bothia castanella, a bolete mushroom first described scientifically in 1900 from collections made in New Jersey. Found in the eastern United States, Costa Rica, China, and Taiwan, it grows in a mycorrhizal association with oak trees. Its fruit body is chestnut brown, the cap is smooth and dry, and the underside of the cap has radially elongated tubes. The spore deposit is yellow-brown. The edibility of the mushroom is unknown. Historically, its unique combination of morphological features resul
Horakiella
Horakiella is a genus of fungi within the Sclerodermataceae family that contains the two species H. clelandii and H. watarrkana.
Psiloboletinus lariceti
Psiloboletinus is a fungal genus in the family Suillaceae. This is a monotypic genus, containing the single species Psiloboletinus lariceti, first described by mycologist Rolf Singer in 1938 as a species of Phylloporus. Alexander H. Smith disagreed with Singer's generic concept, concluding "No matter what disposition of the type species of Psiloboletinus is eventually made, it is evident that there are no clearly distinctive characters on which to recognize the genus on the basis of Singer's descriptions."
Singeromyces
Singeromyces is a fungal genus in the family Boletaceae. It is a monotypic genus, represented by the single species Singeromyces ferrugineus.
Chlorogaster
Chlorogaster (literally green stomach) is a genus of fungi thought to belong to the Sclerodermataceae family, but this has been not molecularly confirmed. A monotypic genus, it contains the single mycorrhizal species Chlorogaster dipterocarpi.
Phylloboletellus
Phylloboletellus is a genus of bolete fungi in the family Boletaceae. It contains only a single species, Phylloboletellus chloephorus.
Gastroleccinum
Gastroleccinum is a fungal genus in the family Boletaceae. It is a monotypic genus, represented by the single species Gastroleccinum scabrosum. The genus was circumscribed by Harry Delbert Thiers in 1989.
Borofutus
Borofutus is a fungal genus in the family Boletaceae. Newly described in 2012, it is monotypic, containing the single species Borofutus dhakanus, found in tropical Asia. The generic name Borofutus derives from the Bengali language, and means "large pore", while dhakanus refers to the type locality in Gazipur, Dhaka Division, Bhawal National Park, in Bangladesh. Molecular analysis shows Borofutus to be closely related to Spongiforma.
Tremellogaster
Tremellogaster is a fungal genus in the Diplocystaceae family. A monotypic genus, it contains the single species Tremellogaster surinamensis, known from Suriname and Guyana.
Bondarcevomyces
Bondarcevomyces is a genus of fungus in the Tapinellaceae family. It is a monotypic genus, containing the single species Bondarcevomyces taxi, found in Asia. The species was originally described as Polyporus taxi by Appolinaris Semyonovich Bondartsev (or Apollinari Semjonowitsch Bondarzew) in 1940, and was transferred to the genera Hapalopilus, Tyromyces, and Parmastomyces before being made the type of the newly created Bondarcevomyces, published in Mycotaxon Vol.70 on page 219 in 1999.
Paxillogaster
Paxillogaster is a genus of fungi in the family Boletaceae. This is a monotypic genus, containing the single species Paxillogaster luteus.
Chrysoconia
Chrysoconia is a genus of fungi within the Coniophoraceae family. This is a monotypic genus, containing the single species Chrysoconia orthospora, found in Lake Union, Washington.
Diplocystis
Diplocystis is a genus of fungi in the Diplocystaceae family. The single species in the genus, Diplocystis wrightii, has been shown using phylogenetic analysis to be a member of the Sclerodermatineae suborder of the Boletales. The species was originally described in 1869 by Miles Joseph Berkeley and Moses Ashley Curtis, from specimens collected in the Caribbean.
Paragyrodon
Paragyrodon is a genus of fungi in the family Paxillaceae. It is a monotypic genus, containing the single species Paragyrodon sphaerosporus. Paragyrodon was circumscribed by Rolf Singer in 1942.
Setogyroporus
Setogyroporus is a monotypic fungal genus in the family Boletaceae, containing the single species Setogyroporus verus.
Hydnomerulius
Hydnomerulius pinastri is a fungal species of the monotypic genus Hydnomerulius within the Paxillaceae family.  H. pinastri is a saprophyte whose nutritional mode creates a brown rot through H2O2 decay of cellulose and hemi-cellulose. This species has not been thoroughly studied outside of taxonomic attempts to place it within the fungal tree. As such, its ecological role beyond as a wood decaying agent is unclear at this time. H. pinastri may be referred to colloquially as "spiny dry rot" or "spiny dry rot fungus".
