Monotypic Laurales genera

Gomortega keule (syn. G. nitida; Spanish names keule, queule, and hualhual) is a species of tree endemic to Chile. It is the sole species of the genus Gomortega and, according to the APG IV system of 2016 (unchanged from the APG systems of 2009, 2003 and 1998), of the monotypic family Gomortegaceae, assigned to the order Laurales in the clade magnoliids.

Idiospermum is a monotypic genus (that is, a genus that contains only one species) in the family Calycanthaceae. The sole included species is Idiospermum australiense − commonly known as ribbonwood, dinosaur tree, or the misnomer idiotfruit − which is found only in two small areas of the tropical rainforests of northeastern Queensland, Australia. It has the largest seed embryo of any flowering plant, and is the only flowering plant with more than two cotyledons. It is a relic of the ancient forests of Gondwana, surviving in very localised refugia for 120 million years, and displaying features

Eusideroxylon is a genus of evergreen trees of the family Lauraceae. The genus is monotypic, and includes one accepted species, Eusideroxylon zwageri. The species is commonly known as Bornean ironwood, or by the Malay names belian and ulin. It is predominantly found in Borneo and Sumatra, where it grows in lowland rain forests, but is also thought to inhabit the Philippines.

Phyllostemonodaphne is a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the family Lauraceae containing the single species Phyllostemonodaphne geminiflora. It is endemic to Brazil, where it is known from Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, and the state of Rio de Janeiro. Most collections have been made near the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The tree's pungent leaves have a similar flavor to bay leaves, though stronger, and it may be mistaken for bay laurel.

Laureliopsis is a genus of flowering plants with just one species, Laureliopsis philippiana, known as tepa and wawán, endemic to Chile and the narrow neighboring strip of Argentina (35 to 45°S). In Chile it is found from Maule to Aysén. It grows on humid and deep soils.
