Formerly a joint venture between CJ ENM and Hybe Corporation, the group was formed through the 2020 survival competition show I-Land. The group consists of six members: Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-Ki. Originally a seven-piece ensemble, Heeseung left the group in March 2026. They debuted on November 30, 2020, with the extended play (EP) Border: Day One.

STAYC (; , acronym for Star to a Young Culture) is a South Korean girl group formed by High Up Entertainment. The group is composed of six members: Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J. Mainly produced by K-pop duo Black Eyed Pilseung, they debuted on November 12, 2020, with the release of their debut single album Star to a Young Culture. From September 2023 to March 2024 they embarked on their first world tour.

The band released their debut studio album Super Snõõper in July 2023, which was met with positive reception. Due to their non-serious nature, their music is often described as egg punk. They are known for their large papier-mâché puppets at their shows, including their mascot, a large green bug.
