Antirhodos (sometimes Antirrhodos or Anti Rhodes) was an island in the eastern harbor of Alexandria, Egypt, on which a Ptolemaic Egyptian palace was sited. The island was occupied until the reigns of Septimius Severus and Caracalla and it probably sank in the 4th century, when it succumbed to earthquakes and a tsunami following an earthquake in the eastern Mediterranean near Crete in the year 365. Tarrana (Arabic: الطرانة Aṭ-Ṭarrānah, Coptic: ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲛⲟⲩⲑⲓ Terenouthi), known in classical antiquity as Terenouthis (Ancient Greek: Τερενοῦθις), is a town that is currently referred to as Monufia Governorate of Egypt. This site is located in the western Nile Delta, circa 70 km north-west of Cairo, between the southern prehistoric site of Merimde Beni-salame and the northern town of Kom el-Hisn. According to the Hebrew Bible, Zoan ( Ṣōʿan) was a city of Egypt in the eastern Nile Delta. Book of Numbers 13:22 says that it was built seven years after Hebron was built. Psalm 78:12,43 identifies the "field of Zoan" as the location where Moses performed miracles before a biblical Pharaoh to persuade him to release the Israelites from his service. The city is also mentioned in Book of Isaiah 19:11, 13, Isaiah 30:4 and Book of Ezekiel 30:14.
