Peenestrom

thumb|The Peenestrom at Wolgast thumb|Bascule bridge over the Peenestrom The Peenestrom is a strait in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, which separates the mainland from the island of Usedom. It is long and is the westernmost connection between the Szczecin Lagoon and the Baltic Sea (together with the Świna and Dziwna channels). The Peenestrom is one of the three distributaries of the Oder River.

thumb|Pasture on Görmitz Görmitz () is a small island in the Achterwasser lagoon or bodden on the island of Usedom. The island is a nature reserve, which is managed by the Jordsand Society for the Protection of Seabirds and Nature (Verein Jordsand zum Schutze der Seevögel und der Natur).
