Tejen
Tejen (older spellings: Tedzhen, Tejend, Tejent) is an oasis city in the Karakum Desert, in Ahal Province of Turkmenistan. It lies along the M37 highway, between Duşak and Mary, by road southeast of Ashgabat. It has a population of approximately 67,500. To the east is the larger oasis of Mary. Khlopin suggests Tejen may have been the birthplace of Zoroaster.

Derweze, also known as Darvaza (in Russian: Дарваза), is a village in Gökdepe District, Ahal Province, Turkmenistan. It is located in the middle of the Karakum Desert, about 260 km north of Ashgabat. Derweze's inhabitants are mostly Turkmen of the Teke tribe, preserving a semi-nomadic lifestyle. In 2022, it had a population of 2,166 people.
Bäherden
Bäherden, formerly Baharly (2003–2018), is a city and the seat of Bäherden District, Ahal Province, Turkmenistan. It lies on the northern rim of the Kopet Dag mountain range, south-east of the resort town of Arçman. In 2022, it had a population of 37,588 people.

Gökdepe, previously spelled "Geok-Tepe" ("Геок-Тепе") in Russian, is a city in and the administrative center of Gökdepe District, Ahal Region, Turkmenistan, north-west of Ashgabat. The city is built around a former fortress of the Turkmens which bore the same name. The city lies along the M37 highway and the Trans-Caspian Railway. In 2022, it had a population of 33,381 people.
Sarahs
Sarahs (, also written Saraghs, Serahs, Sarakhs, Saragt, or Serakhs, the last a backformation of ) is an oasis city in Ahal Province, Turkmenistan, and the administrative center of Sarahs district. It is one of the oases of the ancient Silk Road lying between Merw to the east and Mashhad to the west. In 2022, the city had a population of 31,269.

Arkadag
Arkadag (Turkmen arka "behind" + dag "mountain", connoting "protector") is a smart city in southern Turkmenistan. It became the regional capital of Ahal Province effective 20 December 2022. It is a largely greenfield development started in 2019 with an initial budget of $1.5 billion. The city was named in honor of former president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, father of sitting president Serdar Berdimuhamedow, who is officially entitled Arkadag. Uniquely among Turkmen cities, Arkadag is by law designated a "city of state importance".

Arçman is a town in Bäherden District, Ahal Province, Turkmenistan. The place is renowned for the hot springs located about 11 km away. In 2022, it had an urban population of 6,014 people.

Its name and the name of the surrounding district were changed on 26 June 1992 by Parliamentary Resolution No. 729-XII. In 2022, it had a population of 13,440 people.

Duşak is a town on the rim of the Kopet Dag mountains in Kaka District, Ahal Province, Turkmenistan. The town is renowned for the Battle of Duşak between British and Bolshevik forces. President Serdar Berdimuhamedow was first elected to the Assembly of Turkmenistan in the Duşak electoral district in 2016. In 2022, it had a population of 8,405 people.

Ýerbent
Ýerbent, also known in Russian as Erbent ("Ербент"), is a village in Ahal Province in central Turkmenistan. The village is located in the Garagum Desert and is the second largest settlement on the road between Aşgabat and Daşoguz, which are located near the southern and northern border of the country respectively. In 2022, it had a population of 2,561 people. Ýerbent is surbordinate to the town of Bokurdak.
