Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Nestos, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 245.181 km2. The population of the municipal unit of Chrysoupoli in 2021 was 14,970.

Keramoti
Keramoti () is a town and a former municipality in the Kavala regional unit, East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Nestos, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 115.095 km2. As of the 2021 census, the municipal unit had a population of 4,381, and the community had a population of 1,715. Originated as a small fisherman's village of Greek immigrants from Asia Minor, today Keramoti is a picturesque little sea resort with a sandy beach, several small hotels and a lot of vacation rentals.

Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pangaio, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 126.974 km2. At the 2021 census, the municipal unit's population was 8,863 and the community's population was 5,292.

Eleftheres () is a village and a former municipality in the Kavala regional unit, East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pangaio, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 150.555 km2. The seat of the municipality was Nea Peramos. The other villages in this municipal unit are Agios Andreas, Eleftheres, Elaiochori, Folia, Myrtofyto and Nea Iraklitsa.

Filippoi (Greek: , Philippi), is a village and a former municipality in the Kavala regional unit, East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece built on the Via Egnatia. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Kavala, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 238.751 km2. The 2021 census reported a population of 10,133 for the municipal unit and 796 for the village. The ruins of ancient Philippi are located in the municipal unit.

Krinides (, before 1926: Ράχτσα - Rachtsa) is a town in the Kavala regional unit in eastern Macedonia, Greece. It was the seat of the former municipality of Filippoi. The ruins of the ancient city Philippi are close to the town. Krinides is situated at the southwestern foot of the Lekanis hills, 13 km northwest of Kavala and 20 km southeast of Drama. The Greek National Road 12 between Drama and Kavala passes west of Krinides.

Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pangaio, of which it is a municipal unit (municipal unit of Orfano). The municipal unit has an area of 200.862 km2. The municipal unit of Orfano has a population of 5,076, and the community of Orfani has 742 inhabitants (2021).
