Psylloidea
Psylloidea is a superfamily of true bugs, including the jumping plant lice and others which have recently been classified as distinct families. Though the group first appeared during the Early Jurassic, modern members of the group do not appear until the Eocene, and Mesozoic members of the order are usually assigned to the possibly paraphyletic family Liadopsyllidae.
Carsidaridae
Carsidaridae is a bug family in the superfamily Psylloidea, with a world-wide (more southern hemisphere) distribution; the type genus Carsidara is from eastern Asia. Species of Allocarsidara are considered to be durian pests.
Homotomidae
Homotomidae was a family of small phloem-feeding bugs in the superfamily of jumping plantlice, but recently (2021) subsumed to the subfamily Homotominae in the family Carsidaridae.
Homotoma
Homotoma is a genus of mostly Palaearctic plant lice in the family Carsidaridae and typical of the subfamily Homotominae; it was erected by Félix Guérin-Méneville in 1844.
Bharatiana
Bharatiana is a genus of Asian plant lice in the recently (2021) restored family Mastigimatidae; previously it was included in the Calophyidae and this placement currently (February 2025) remains in many databases. The genus and type species were described by R.N. Mathur in 1973, after Bharat, an ancient name for India; other species have been recorded subsequently from China.
Mastigimas
Mastigimas is the type genus of plant lice in the recently (2021) restored family Mastigimatidae; previously it was included in the Calophyidae and this placement currently (February 2025) remains in many databases. The genus was erected by Günther Enderlein in 1921 and species have been recorded from central and southern America.
Carsidara
Carsidara is a genus of plant lice typical of the family Carsidaridae and subfamily Carsidarinae; it was originally erected by Francis Walker in 1869. Records (very probably incomplete) include Africa and East Asia.
Macrohomotoma
Macrohomotoma is a genus of plant-parasitic hemipterans in the subfamily Homotominae and tribe Macrohomotomini. There are about 15 described species in Macrohomotoma. thumb thumb
