The Rena or Renaelva is a river in Innlandet county, Norway. The long river runs through Rendalen Municipality and Åmot Municipality in Innlandet county. This river is a tributary of the large river Glomma. Kjøllsæter Bridge connects the east and west side of the river. The river Julussa flows from south through the Julussdalen valley and into the river Rena.

Otnes is a village in Rendalen Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located along the lake Lomnessjøen, about north of the village of Åkre. The village of Bergset (the municipal centre) lies about to the north of Otnes.

Sølen (or unofficially: Rendalssølen or Søln) is a mountain in Rendalen Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The mountain lies about east of the village of Bergset. The lake Sølensjøen lies just east of the mountain. The mountain has three peaks:
Bergset
Bergset is the administrative centre of Rendalen Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located on the western shore of the river Renaelva, about north of the village of Otnes in the largely rural Østerdalen valley.
Elgpiggen
Elgspiggen is a mountain located on the border of Tolga Municipality and Rendalen Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is part of the Holøydalen mountain area. The mountain is easily recognizable due to its shape like a pyramid. The mountain has a topographic prominence of about and a topographic isolation of about . It is the tallest peak in Tolga Municipality.
Sølensjøen
Sølensjøen is a lake in Rendalen Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The lake is part of the long Sølna river system. The lake itself is about long and wide, and its greatest depth is . Sølensjøen has abundant populations of Arctic char, trout, grayling, whitefish, pike, burbot and perch, which has made it the locale of Norway's largest inland fishing village Fiskevollen which is located on its northwestern shore. The mountain Sølen lies about to the southwest of the lake.
Hanestad
Hanestad is a village in Rendalen Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located along the river Glomma, about southwest of the village of Bergset. The Norwegian National Road 3 runs through the village. The Rørosbanen railway line also runs through the village, stopping at Hanestad Station, the only railroad station in Rendalen Municipality. In 2021, the village had 40 residents.
Lomnessjøen
Lomnessjøen is a lake in Rendalen Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The villages Åkre and Otnes are located on the shores of the lake. The lake is part of the Renaelva river system. The Renaelva river flows into the lake from the north. The south end of the river drains into the larger lake Storsjøen which is about to the south of this lake.

Harrsjøen is a lake in Rendalen Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The lake lies about southwest of the village of Bergset and about northeast of the village of Hanestad. The lake has an outlet in the south through the river Hårenna, a tributary of the river Renaelva.

Åkrestrømmen is a village in Rendalen Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located along the river Renaelva at the northern end of the lake Storsjøen, about south of the village of Åkre. The town of Koppang lies about to the southwest of Åkrestrømmen.

Galtsjøen
Galtsjøen is a lake on the border of Rendalen Municipality and Engerdal Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The lake is considered the headwaters of the river Femundselva which flows south into Sweden. The lake inlet is through the Galtstrømmen which comes from the small lake Galthåen which in turn has an inlet from the lake Isteren and Femunden. The lake Sølensjøen lies about to the west of Galtsjøen.
