Rif
The Rif (), also called Rif Mountains, is a geographic region in northern Morocco. It is bordered on the north by the Mediterranean Sea and Spain and on the west by the Atlantic Ocean, and is the homeland of the Riffians, Senhaja Srair and the Jebala people. This mountainous and fertile area is bordered by Cape Spartel and Tangier to the west, by Berkane city and the Moulouya River to the east, by the Mediterranean to the north, and by the Ouergha River to the south. Nador is a coastal city and provincial capital in the northeastern Rif region of Morocco with a population of about 158,202 (2024 census).
It is the capital of the homonymous Nador Province with more than 600,000 inhabitants.
Nador is considered the second largest city in the Oriental Region after Oujda.

Fnideq () is a town in northern Morocco, on the Mediterranean coast of M'diq-Fnideq Prefecture, north of the city of Tétouan. The town is also known under the Spanish name Castillejos. It is the closest Moroccan urban commune to the Spanish exclave of Ceuta, although the rural commune of Belyounech is closer. During the Hispano-Moroccan War of 1859, it was the location of the decisive Battle of Castillejos.

Imzouren () is a town in the north of Morocco. It is located near the city of Al Hoceima and now stretches almost to the town of Bni Bouayach. The inhabitants of Imzouren are Riffians. The February 2004 Al Hoceima earthquake occurred near Imzouren and registered 6.3 on the moment magnitude scale. At least 564 people died there, with over 250 people wounded. According to the 2014 census, the city has a population of 33,852.

Gzenaya or Igzennayen () is the name of a Riffian tribe of the Rif region in the north-eastern part of Morocco. Towns such as Aknoul, Ajdir Gzenaya and Ain Hamra belong to this tribe. Many Igzennayen can also be found in cities such as Tangier, Taza and Meknes.

Nekor () is a historic site in the Rif region of Morocco near modern-day Bni Bouayach. It was founded by Idris ibn Salih, Emir of the medieval Kingdom of Nekor, between 749 and 761 AD. His son Sa'id I ibn Idris moved the capital to Nekor from Temsaman. At its height, it was described as the greatest center of Berber culture in the region of Rif.
