Héðinsfjarðargöng
Héðinsfjarðargöng (, ) are two road tunnels in northern Iceland, connecting Ólafsfjörður and Siglufjörður. They were opened on October 2, 2010. The total cost was around ISK 12 billion ($106 million).

== Social, economic and cultural impact of the tunnels ==
In 2008, a seven-year research project was initiated to evaluate the social, economic, and cultural impact of the Héðinsfjörður tunnels. The project was directed by Professor Thoroddur Bjarnason and implemented by a research team at the University of Akureyri.

Norðfjarðargöng
Norðfjarðargöng (, ) is a tunnel in Iceland, located in Eastern Region along Route 92. It has a length of and was originally due to be completed in 2014. After delays, prompting protests by residents of the area, it opened on 11 November 2017. Norðfjarðargöng connects the communities of Neskaupstaður and Eskifjörður, replacing the Oddsskarðsgöng tunnel.
Múlagöng
Múlagöng () or Ólafsfjarðargöng is a one lane tunnel in Iceland, located in Northeastern Region along Route 82, connecting Dalvík and Ólafsfjörður. It was the fourth tunnel constructed in Iceland. It has a length of and was opened on March 1, 1991.

Bolungarvíkurgöng (, regionally also ) is a tunnel in northwestern Iceland, located in Westfjords along Route 61. It has a length of and opened on 25 September 2010.
Strákagöng
Strákagöng (, ) is a tunnel in Iceland, located in Northwestern Region along Route 76. It has a length of and was opened in 1967. It is the second tunnel ever built in Iceland, only preceded by a minor tunnel of 30 meters between Ísafjörður and Súðavík. Prior to the tunnel being built, the only road connection to the town of Siglufjörður was a very difficult mountain road built in 1946, that was closed about 5 months a year due to snow.

Vaðlaheiðargöng
Vaðlaheiðargöng (, ) is a toll tunnel in the north of Iceland along Route 1, just east of Akureyri. It passes between Eyjafjörður and Fnjóskadalur. It is long and replaces a 21 km section of Route 1 including the Víkurskarð pass, often closed during winter. The tunnel shortens the travel between Akureyri and Husavik by 16 km. As of 2024, it is the only toll road in Iceland.
