Herreninsel (; old name: Herrenwörth) is a 238 hectare island in Bavaria's largest lake, Chiemsee. It is the biggest of the lake's three main islands, Fraueninsel and Krautinsel joining it to form the municipality of Chiemsee.

The island Frauenchiemsee, often called Fraueninsel (), is the second largest of the three islands in Chiemsee lake, Germany. It belongs to the municipality of Chiemsee in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim, which is the smallest municipality in all of Bavaria. The large and car-free Fraueninsel houses a convent of Benedictine nuns, which is usually called , as well as 300 permanent residents.

The Mangfall () is a river of Upper Bavaria, Germany. It is a left tributary of the Inn. The Mangfall is the outflow of the Tegernsee lake and discharges into the Inn in Rosenheim. The Mangfall is long.

Simssee
Simssee is a lake in the Alpine foothills of Bavaria, Germany. It has an elevation of 470.1 metres and a surface area of 6.5 km2, making it the largest lake in the Rosenheim district. The maximum depth of the lake is 22.5 m. It drains into the river Sims. The retention period of the Simssee is about one and a half years and its catchment area covers 59.51 km2. It is the last remain of Lake Rosenheim, which stretched over the area at the end of the Würm glaciation. The lake is a popular recreational spot for local visitors.

It is 1569 m high, and is located in the north-western part of the Chiemgauer Alpen. The summit can be reached by cable car from Grainbach. Starting from the village, a chairlift takes you to the middle station at 920 m above sea level. From there, a cable car leads to the summit.
