Hemipristis
Hemipristis (from , 'half' and 'saw') is a genus of weasel sharks, family Hemigaleidae. It contains one extant species, the snaggletooth shark (H. elongata) and several extinct species.
Pliotrema
Pliotrema is a genus of sawsharks found in the Western Indian Ocean. Members of this genus differ from sawsharks of the genus Pristiophorus in having six gill slits. The presence of six pairs of gill slits highlights this genus among sharks; outside Hexanchiformes order, Pliotrema is the only shark genus with more than five gill slits. The genus was formerly monotypic, featuring only P. warreni until the two new species were described in 2020.
Notorynchus
Notorynchus is a genus of deepwater sharks in the family Hexanchidae. There is one extant species.
Heptranchias
Heptranchias is a genus of sharks in the family Hexanchidae.
Planonasus
Planonasus is a genus of ground sharks in the family Pseudotriakidae, native to the western Indian Ocean.
Megachasma
Megachasma is a genus of mackerel sharks. It is usually considered to be the sole genus in the family Megachasmidae, though suggestion has been made that it may belong in the family Cetorhinidae, of which the basking shark is the sole extant member. Megachasma is known from a single living species, Megachasma pelagios.
Nebrius
Nebrius is a genus of carpet sharks in the family Ginglymostomatidae.
Dalatias
Dalatias is a genus of kitefin sharks that have lived since the Middle Eocene. The genus contains one extant and two extinct species: D. licha (the type species), D. turkmenicus and D. orientalis. Because D. turkmenicus was described on the basis of a single tooth crown, D. licha was considered as the only valid species within the genus until Malyshkina et al. (2023) described a third species, D. orientalis, from the Middle Miocene Duho Formation in Pohang, South Korea.
Galeorhinus
Galeorhinus is a genus of houndshark containing one extant species, the widespread but highly threatened school shark (G. galeus), and several extinct species dating back to the Late Cretaceous (Cenomanian).
Chaenogaleus
Chaenogaleus is a genus of shark containing two species. Only one is extant.
