The Ryeland is one of the oldest English sheep breeds going back seven centuries when the monks of Leominster in Herefordshire bred sheep and grazed them on the rye pastures, giving them their name. It was introduced into Australia in 1919 and are classified as an endangered breed by the Rare Breeds Trust of Australia and also are one of the nine heritage breeds that were the foundation of the sheep and wool industry in Australia. The Ryeland was one of the breeds used to introduce the poll gene (no horns) to the Dorset breed in the development of the Poll Dorset.

The Pelibüey or is a Cuban breed of domestic sheep. It is found principally in Cuba, where it is the most numerous breed of sheep, but is also reared elsewhere in the Caribbean and in some coastal parts of Mexico. It is a hair sheep – its coat is of hair, not wool; this is a common adaptation to tropical environments. This likely derives at least in part from African breeds of sheep such as the West African Dwarf, and probable is related to other American breeds of African origin such as the Barbados Black Belly, the Roja Africana of Venezuela, and the Oveja Africana of Colombia.

The Navajo-Churro, or Churro for short, (also American or Navajo Four-Horned) is a breed of domestic sheep originating with the Spanish Churra sheep obtained by the Diné around the 16th century during the Spanish Conquest. Its wool consists of a protective topcoat and soft undercoat. Some rams have four fully developed horns, a trait shared with few other breeds in the world. The breed is highly resistant to disease. Ewes often bear twins, and they have good mothering instincts. This breed is raised primarily for wool, although some also eat their meat.

The Bardoka () or White Metohian sheep ( - White Sheep of the Dukagjin) is a multi-purpose (milk, meat, wool and research) breed of domesticated sheep in Kosovo. It is a popular sheep in Kosovo and partially in Montenegro, Serbia and Albania. This breed appears to adaptable to all environmental conditions especially low temperatures. However, the Bardoka is sensitive to high humidity.

The Cormo is an Australian breed of dual-purpose sheep, reared both for wool and for meat. It was developed in Tasmania in the early 1960s by crossing Corriedale rams with Superfine Saxon Merino ewes, with selective breeding of the resulting offspring. In the twenty-first century it is either extinct or close to extinction in Australia, and endangered world-wide.

The Dalesbred is a breed of domestic sheep originating in England. Derived from the Swaledale and Scottish Blackface breeds, the Dalesbred is a northern hill breed distributed in the Yorkshire Dales and into Lancashire. The Dalesbred is genetically distinct from the other northern hill breeds, the Herdwick and Rough Fell.
