Akrahreppur
Akrahreppur (, regionally also ), previously called Blönduhlíðarhreppur, is a former municipality, or hreppur, situated in the Northwestern Region of Iceland, and located east of the Héraðsvötn, north of the Kyrfisá, and leading south to Hofsjökull. It is divided into a range of villages, including Ábær. In February 2022, residents of Akrahreppur and the neighboring municipality of Skagafjörður voted to combine the two municipalities. In June 2022 the merger was formalized under the name of Skagafjörður.

Tröllaskagi
Tröllaskagi () is a peninsula in northern Iceland on the Greenland Sea, between the fjords of Eyjafjörður and Skagafjörður. The peninsula is mountainous, with several peaks reaching over 1,000 meters above sea level, the tallest being Kerling (1,538 m). It is the part of Iceland with the highest elevation outside the central highlands.
Héraðsvötn

thumb|Málmey island Málmey () is an uninhabited island off the northern coast of Iceland, one of the three islands in the Skagafjörður bay, along with Drangey and Lundey. It is located on the east side of the bay. Málmey is a long and narrow island, about 4 km long and about 1 km wide, and it is narrower at both the northern and southern ends. It is surrounded by cliffs on all sides, and it reaches an elevation of 156 m above sea level in its northern part.

Víðimýri is an estate in Skagafjörður, Iceland south of Varmahlíð, which overlooks it. The area was previously a part of Seyluhreppur. The estate used to be a manor and was, at the end of the 12th century and during the 13th century, the residence of the region's chieftains from the Ásbirningar family clan, from Kolbeinn Tumason to Kálfur, the son of Brandur Kolbeinsson, who was known to live there in 1262. By the 17th and 18th centuries, the estate had long been the residence of the local sheriff. Víðimýri has now been divided into eight or nine independent holdings.

Hjaltadalur is a valley on the east side of Skagafjörður, Iceland that was previously a part of Hólahreppur. The majority of the valley is surrounded by 1,000–2,000-meter-tall mountains, and it intersects with various remote valleys. Hjaltadalsá river runs through the valley, originating at Hjaltadalsjökull glacier located at the head of Hjaltadalur. Several tributaries and streams flow into Hjaltadalsá.

The road was built over the plateau in 1945 and it was the road for cars to connect with . Due to heavy snows in the winter, the road is generally closed from September to May.

Molduxi is a mountain overlooking Sauðárkrókur and Borgarsveit in Skagafjörður, Iceland. The mountain is and easy to climb. There is a panoramic view of Skagafjörður from the top of Molduxi, and there is a popular hiking trail that leads up the mountain from Sauðárkrókur.
