Laibach
Laibach () is a Slovenian avant-garde music group associated with the industrial, martial, and neoclassical genres. Formed in 1980 in the mining town of Trbovlje, Slovenia (at the time the SR Slovenia within Yugoslavia), Laibach represents the musical wing of the Neue Slowenische Kunst (NSK) artist collective, a group which Laibach co-founded in 1984.

Pankrti (The Bastards in Slovene) are a punk rock band from Ljubljana, Slovenia, active in the late 1970s and 1980s. They were known for provocative and political songs. They billed themselves as The First Punk Band Behind The Iron Curtain (one of their songs was titled, Behind the iron curtain old broads pull red beet). They are one of the most important former Yugoslav punk groups and one of the first punk rock bands ever formed in a communist country.

Borghesia (Italian: bourgeoisie) is a Slovenian electronic music/rock music group, created in Ljubljana (at the time in Yugoslavia) in 1982. The band was formed by members of the alternative theatre group Theatre FV-112/15 and Teater Performans. Borghesia created its aesthetics using the imagery of what was prohibited, tabooed, and repressed. Their sound is often compared to that of other groups in the period such as D.A.F., Manufacture, and Front 242, whom many cite as the chief instigators of the Electronic Body Music label used to describe such music.

Buldožer (Transl. Bulldozer) was a Slovenian and Yugoslav rock band formed in 1975 in Ljubljana. One of the first avant-garde acts on the Yugoslav rock scene, Buldožer were noted for their experimentation with a variety of genres, musical parodies, humorous and satirical lyrics and provocative and self-ironic imagery and public performances. They are often described as the forefathers of the Yugoslav new wave scene and are generally considered one of most prominent and influential acts of the Yugoslav rock scene in general.
