Mendefera
Mendefera (Tigrinya: መንደፈራ), formerly Adi Ugri, is an ancient town which is now the capital city of the Southern Region or Zoba Debub of Eritrea. The town's name derives from the high hill in the center of the city and it means that "who dared it" (in English) or "መን ደፈራ"( in Tigrinya) as it was a jungle and is a source of pride to Eritreans. The city is a reminder of the local anti-colonial movement.

Dekemhare (; sometimes spelled Decamare, Italian: Decamerè) is a town in Eritrea in the Southern Region, southeast of the national capital of Asmara. During the Italian colonial period, the town became a major center of industry and agriculture known for its vineyards. The town became known for Art Deco buildings built during the colonial period.

Senafe (, ) is a market town in southern Eritrea, on the edge of the Eritrean Highlands ሶይራ. The name Sanafe driven from [Sana-feen] yemeni words.The surrounding area is inhabited by the Saho people and the Tigrinya people. It's well known for its cultural and religious historical background, as well as for the ruins of Metera (also known as Balaw Kalaw), Qohayto to the south, and Kaskase to the north.

Debarwa
Debarwa ( ) is a market town in central Eritrea. It is situated about 25 kilometers south of the capital Asmara, and has a population of about 25,000 inhabitants. It is the capital of the Debarwa district (Tsilima) in the Debub ("Southern") administrative region (one of five in Eritrea).

Qohaito
Qohaito (Tigrinya: ቆሓይቶ) or Koloe was a major ancient city in what is now the Debub region of Eritrea. It was a pre-Aksumite settlement that thrived during the Aksumite period. The city was located over 2,500 meters above sea level, on a high plateau at the edge of the Great Rift Valley, about half way between Aksum and its port of Adulis. , Qohaito's stone ruins have yet to be excavated. The ancient port city of Adulis is directly to the north east, while Matara lies to the south.
