Snåsavatnet
Snåsavatnet (; ) is Norway's sixth-largest lake. The lake is located in Steinkjer Municipality and Snåsa Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The villages of Følling and Sunnan lie at the southwestern end of the lake and the village of Snåsa lies at the northeastern end of the lake. European route E6 runs along the northern shore of the lake and the Nordland Line railway runs along the southern shore.

Sparbu
Sparbu is a village in Steinkjer Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located about south of the town of Steinkjer. The European route E6 highway runs through the village as does the Nordlandsbanen railway line which stops at the Sparbu Station. The village of Mære lies about to the north, the village of Røra (in neighboring Inderøy Municipality) lies about to the south, and the lake Leksdalsvatnet lies about to the east.
Follafoss
Follafoss is a village in Steinkjer Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village lies on the northern shore of the Beitstadfjorden, about halfway between the east and west end of the fjord. Follafoss village is about southwest of the village of Malm and about northeast of the village of Verrastranda.
Mære
Mære is a village in Steinkjer Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located along European route E6 and the Nordlandsbanen railway line, about south of the town of Steinkjer. The village of Sparbu lies about south of Mære. Mære Church is located in this village as well.

Malm
is a village in Steinkjer Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village of Malm is located along the Beitstadsundet strait which flows into the Trondheimsfjorden. The village of Bartnes lies across the strait from Malm. The village lies about a drive northwest of the town of Steinkjer, about northwest of the village of Follafoss, and about south of the village of Namdalseid (in neighboring Namsos Municipality). The Norwegian County Road 720 runs through the village.

Leksdalsvatnet is a lake in Trøndelag county, Norway that lies in Steinkjer Municipality and Verdal Municipality. It is located south of the town of Steinkjer and northeast of the town of Verdalsøra, about east of the Trondheimsfjord. The lake sits at an elevation of above sea level. It is drained by Figgja.

It is sometimes referred to as Bølafeltet (English: the Bøla site). The Bølarein has been mentioned as "probably the most well known of all the Norwegian petroglyphs", and as "the finest rock carving we have in our country."

Ormsetvatnet is a lake in Steinkjer Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located about northeast of the village of Verrabotn. The lake has a dam at the southern end, the water flows out into the short river Moldelva which flows out into an arm of the Trondheimsfjord.
Bangsjøan
Bangsjøan is a man-made lake in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located along the borders of the municipalities of Snåsa, Grong, Overhalla, and Steinkjer. The lake lies about north of the lake Snåsavatnet and about northwest of the village of Snåsa. The lake was created by the building of a dam which cause the water level of three neighboring lakes to rise and flow together into one large lake. The dam is located on what is now the northwestern side of the lake.

Verrasundet
Verrasundet is a fjord in Trøndelag county, Norway. The long fjord branches off of the northern part of the vast Trondheimsfjorden in Indre Fosen Municipality, Steinkjer Municipality, and Inderøy Municipality. It extends from Beitstadfjorden to the village of Verrabotn. The fjord is a maximum of wide, but at Trongsundet, the fjord is barely wide.

Steinkjerelva
Steinkjerelva is a long river in the town of Steinkjer in Steinkjer Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It forms at the confluence between the rivers Byaelva and Ogna at Guldbergaunet and flows through the town of Steinkjer before flowing into Beitstadfjorden, the inner part of the Trondheimsfjord. The river is crossed by four bridges, including one for the Nordland Line and the Sneppen Bridge which is part of the European route E6 highway. The river drains the entire Snåsavatnet watershed, which covers an area of .
Selavatnet
Selavatnet is a lake on the border of Åfjord Municipality and Steinkjer Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The majority of the lake lies in Steinkjer Municipality, with the northwestern end of the lake partially lying in Åfjord Municipality. The village of Sela (and Sela Church) lies on the northern side of the lake and the village of Sandsetra at the southeastern end of the lake. The lake is one of the sources for the Folla river system which flows into the Trondheimsfjord at the village of Follafoss.
