Hardangerfjord
The Hardangerfjord () is the fifth longest fjord in the world and the second longest fjord in Norway. It is located in the Hardanger region of Vestland county in western Norway. The fjord stretches from the Atlantic Ocean into the mountainous interior of Norway along the Hardangervidda plateau. The innermost point of the fjord reaches the town of Odda.

Leirvik
Leirvik or Stord is a town and the administrative centre of Stord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The town lies along the southern coast of the large island of Stord, along the Hardangerfjorden. The town gained "town status" in 1997. The town includes the Eldøyane peninsula where the large Kværner Stord industrial area is located.

Sunnhordland
Sunnhordland is a traditional district in the western region of Norway. The district consists of the southern coastal regions of the old Hordaland county (now part of Vestland county). It includes the areas that surround the mouth of the Hardangerfjorden and the surrounding islands. The municipalities of Sveio, Etne, Stord, Bømlo, Fitjar, Kvinnherad, and Tysnes (and sometimes Austevoll) make up the district of Sunnhordaland. The regional centre of this district is the town of Leirvik in Stord Municipality.

Sagvåg
Sagvåg is a village in Stord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located on the southwest coast of the island of Stord, about west of the town of Leirvik. The Stord Airport, Sørstokken lies about northwest of Sagvåg. Nysæter Church was built here in 1991 to serve the population of the village. The small mining village of Litlabø lies just northeast of Sagvåg.

Huglo
Huglo is an island in Stord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies in the Hardangerfjorden, east of the island of Stord and south of the island of Tysnesøya. The small island of Skorpo lies immediately northeast of this island. The highest point on the rugged island is the tall Høgafjellet.
Føyno
Føyno is an island in Stord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies southwest of the island of Stord at the southern end of the Stokksundet sound. The Digernessundet strait runs between this island and the neighboring island of Stord. Føyno had a central place in the district of Sunnhordland during the Middle Ages, and gave its name to the medieval skipreide of Føyen.

Mehammarsåta is a mountain in Stord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The tall mountain is the highest mountain on the island of Stord. It lies in the northeastern part of the municipality, just south of the border with Fitjar Municipality.
Langenuen
Langenuen is a strait in Vestland county, Norway. The strait runs between the islands of Stord and Huftarøy on the west, and Tysnesøya and Reksteren on the east. The strait ranges from wide, and it forms the boundaries between Austevoll Municipality, Tysnes Municipality, Fitjar Municipality, and Stord Municipality.

Litlabø
Litlabø is a village and former mining community in Stord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the island of Stord at the northern side of the lake of Storavatnet, just northeast of the village of Sagvåg and about northwest of the town of Leirvik. The village had about 450 inhabitants as of 2001. Litlabø was the location for the pyrite mines of Stordø Kisgruber, which operated from 1907 to 1968.
