Preikestolen or Prekestolen () is a tourist attraction in Strand Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. Preikestolen is a steep cliff which rises above Lysefjorden. Atop the cliff, there is an almost flat top of approximately . Preikestolen is located near the western part of the fjord, and on its north side.

Lysefjord
Lysefjord or Lysefjorden is a fjord located in the Ryfylke area in Rogaland county in southwestern Norway. The long fjord lies in Strand Municipality and Sandnes Municipality, about east of the city of Stavanger.
Ryfylke
Ryfylke is a traditional district in the northeastern part of Rogaland county, Norway. The district, encompassing about 60% of the county's area is located northeast of the city of Stavanger and east of the city of Haugesund. It includes the mainland, which is northeast and east of the Boknafjorden and east of the Høgsfjorden. It also consists of the islands on the south side of the Boknafjorden. To the east, Ryfylke borders the districts of Setesdal and Sirdal, to the south is Jæren, and to the west is Haugalandet. Ryfylke is one of the 15 districts in Western Norway.

Jørpeland
Jørpeland is the administrative centre of Strand Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The town is located on the western coast of the mainland, along the shore of the Idsefjorden, about northeast of the city of Stavanger. It sits along the Norwegian National Road 13 a short distance southeast of the village of Tau where the Ryfast tunnel has its eastern entrance.

Høgsfjord
Høgsfjorden is a fjord in Rogaland county, Norway. It lies in Stavanger Municipality, Sandnes Municipality, Strand Municipality, and Gjesdal Municipality. The innermost part of the fjord is located at the village of Frafjord in Gjesdal Municipality. It flows west to Dirdal and then heads northwards. At the village of Forsand, the Lysefjord branches off to the northeast. The Høgsfjorden continues to the northwest past the islands of Idsal and Idse before emptying into the Horgefjorden (just east of the city of Stavanger) and ultimately into the vast Boknafjorden.
Sør-Hidle
Hidle or Sør-Hidle is an island in Strand Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island lies at the southeastern edge of a large archipelago of islands located between the Boknafjorden and the mouth of the Høgsfjorden, just to the northeast of city of Stavanger. The village of Tau lies about east of the island. The island of Åmøy lies a short distance to the west of Hidle and the island of Heng lies a short distance to the southeast. The highest point on the island is the tall Kråkeberget.
Idse
Idse is an island in Strand Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island lies between the and Høgsfjorden, about west of the town of Jørpeland. The island of Idsal lies immediately to the south of Idse, and the island of Heng lies a short distance north. A bridge connects Idse to Idsal, which in turn is connected to the mainland.

Ryfast

Ryfast is a subsea tunnel system in Rogaland county, Norway. The tunnel system is part of the Norwegian National Road 13, and it runs between the city of Stavanger in Stavanger Municipality, under a large fjord, and ends at Solbakk in Strand Municipality.
Tysdalsvatnet
Tysdalsvatnet is a lake in on the border of Hjelmeland Municipality and Strand Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The lake lies about south of the village of Årdal and about east of the village of Tau. The Norwegian National Road 13 (Rv13) runs along the northern side of the lake. The Svo Tunnel was completed in 2013 and it routes much of Rv13 through a mountain rather than along the narrow shoreline of the lake.

Vostervatnet
Vostervatnet is a lake in Strand Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The lake lies in the northwestern part of the municipality, just south of the Fognafjorden. The village of Tau lies about southwest of the lake. The main outflow of the lake is the river Fiskåna, which flows north from the northeastern corner of the lake, down the hill to the village of Fiskå on the shore of the fjord.

Idsal
Idsal is an island in Strand Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island lies directly between the island of Idse and the mainland with the Idsefjorden and the Høgsfjorden on either side of the island. There are short bridge on the east and west sides of Idsal that connect it to the mainland and to Idse, respectively. Most of the island's 12 permanent residents live on the southwestern side of the island, however there are many holiday cottages located all over the island.
