Sunnfjord
Sunnfjord ( - in contrast to Nordfjord) is a traditional district in Western Norway located in Vestland county. It includes the municipalities of Askvoll, Fjaler, the southernmost parts of Kinn, Sunnfjord, and the southernmost parts of Bremanger. It covers an area of about and has a population (2016) of 43,324—about 8% of the population of Vestland county.

Breimsvatnet is a lake in Vestland county, Norway. It is located mostly in Gloppen Municipality, but the southern end of the lake lies in Sunnfjord Municipality. At , it is the largest lake in Gloppen (followed by the lake Eimhjellevatnet). The European route E39 highway runs along the north end of the lake, connecting the two nearby areas of Sandane and Byrkjelo. Jølstravatn
Jølstravatnet is a lake in Sunnfjord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The lake empties its water into the long Jølstra river which then flows into the Førdefjorden. The impressive eastern arm of Jølstravatnet is called Kjøsnesfjorden, although it is not a true fjord that is part of the sea. The villages of Skei, Helgheim, Ålhus, and Vassenden are located on the shores of the lake.

Langhaugane is a village along the river Jølstra in Sunnfjord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located along the European route E39 highway, about west of the village of Vassenden, near the western end of the lake Jølstravatnet. The village of Skei is northeast of Langhaugane at the other end of the lake, and the town of Førde is located about to the southwest.

Jølstra
Jølstra is a river in Sunnfjord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The long river flows from the lake of Jølstravatnet (at an elevation of above sea level) down to the Førdefjorden (which is at sea level). The river begins at the village of Vassenden, on the shores of the lake, it then goes past the village of Langhaugane, then past the Moskog area of Førde, past the village of Bruland, and it finally flows to its mouth at the town of Førde, on the shores of the fjord.

The long Stavfjorden runs along the border between Askvoll Municipality and Kinn Municipality before connecting with the Førdefjorden at Flokeneset at the border with Sunnfjord Municipality.
