Sunnfjord ( - in contrast to Nordfjord) is a traditional district in Western Norway located in Vestland county. It includes the municipalities of Askvoll, Fjaler, the southernmost parts of Kinn, Sunnfjord, and the southernmost parts of Bremanger. It covers an area of about and has a population (2016) of 43,324—about 8% of the population of Vestland county.

Jølstravatnet is a lake in Sunnfjord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The lake empties its water into the long Jølstra river which then flows into the Førdefjorden. The impressive eastern arm of Jølstravatnet is called Kjøsnesfjorden, although it is not a true fjord that is part of the sea.
