The series follows a group of humans trapped inside a circus-themed virtual reality simulation, where they struggle with an erratic artificial intelligence and personal traumas. Gooseworx pitched the series to Glitch, inspired by the primitive computer-generated imagery of the 1990s, as well as the short story "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" by Harlan Ellison.
