Svaneti (Svan: შუ̂ან, ლემშუ̂ანიერა; shwan, lemshwaniera, and Suania in ancient sources; ) is a province in the northwestern part of Georgia. Running along the Greater Caucasus range, Svaneti is one of the most mountainous regions of Georgia. It is largely inhabited by the Svans, an ethnic subgroup of Georgians.
Svan people
The Svans (; ) are an ethnic subgroup of the Georgians indigenous to Svaneti, a region in northwest Georgia. They speak the Svan language and are mostly bilingual also in Georgian. Both these languages belong to the Kartvelian (South Caucasian) language family. In the pre-1930 Soviet census, the Svans were categorized as a separate ethnic group (). The self-designation of the Svan is Mushüan, which is probably reflected in the ethnonym Misimian of the Classical authors.

Chazhashi
Chazhashi ( ) is a village in the Mestia Municipality, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Georgia. It is located in the southern foothills of the Greater Caucasus mountains, in the upper Enguri River valley, at the elevation of 2,160 m above sea level. The village is part of the historical region of Svaneti and center of the Ushguli community. Its medieval fortified structures are inscribed on the registry of Georgia's Immovable Cultural Monuments of National Significance and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Upper Svaneti entity.
Gistola
Gistola (; ) is a peak in the central part of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range on Georgia–Russia border. The elevation of the mountain is above sea level. The mountain is made up of paleozoic granites. The slopes of Gistola are covered with ice.
Lalveri
Lalveri () is a peak of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in the Svaneti region of Georgia adjacent to the Georgia–Russia border. The elevation of the mountain is 4,350 meters (14,268 ft.) above sea level. The most accessible climbing route to the summit of Lalveri is through the Tsaneri Glacier.

Dolra
Dolra is a valley glacier located on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in the Svaneti Region of Georgia. The length of the glacier is and its surface area is . The tongue of the Dolra Glacier descends down to above sea level. The glacier is the source of the river Dolraschala.
Lamaria
Lamaria (also Lamara or Lamia; ) is a goddess in Georgian mythology, specifically of the Svan ethnic subgroup. Like many other deities of the Svan pantheon, her name is derived from a Christian figure; in her case, Mary, mother of Jesus. Lamaria is the goddess of the hearth, protector of cattle, and a protector of women – particularly during childbirth. She also ensured the fertility of a village's grain fields. She was also known as a patron of beekeeping, although that function was later assigned to the Svan interpretation of St. George.
