Bidar ( ) is a city and the headquarters of the Bidar district in Karnataka state of India. Bidar is a prominent place on the archaeological map of India. It is well known for architectural, historical religious and rich heritage sites. Picturesquely perched on the Deccan Plateau, the Bidar fort (Bidar Kote) is more than 500 years old and still standing strong. It is well-known for the Veerabhadreswar Temple, located midway, at a distance of 60 km from both Bidar and Kalaburgi districts. It is well connected by roadways and railway network. It is connected by two national highways, NH 50 and NH 65.

It is from Humnabad and from Bidar. The city is known for having the largest marketplace in the Bidar district and its corn production. It borders Kalaburagi district. The nearest highway is National Highway 65 which passes through Chitgoppa taluk.
