Kaadhalan () is a 1994 Indian Tamil-language romantic thriller film directed by Shankar and produced by K. T. Kunjumon, who co-wrote the story. The film stars Prabhu Deva and Nagma (in her debut in Tamil cinema), alongside Vadivelu, Raghuvaran, Girish Karnad and S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. In the film, a college student falls in love with the daughter of the state governor, but soon becomes embroiled in a conspiracy involving the governor.

Kaappaan () is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by K. V. Anand, who co-wrote the script with Pattukkottai Prabakar. The film, produced by Lyca Productions, stars Suriya, Mohanlal and Arya in lead roles along with Sayyeshaa, Samuthirakani, Poorna, Boman Irani and Chirag Jani in supporting roles. The narrative revolves around a Special Protection Group (SPG) officer who struggles to protect the Prime Minister of India from a mysterious man who threatens to assassinate him.

Jana Nayagan is an unreleased Indian Tamil-language political action thriller film directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions. The film stars Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Mamitha Baiju, alongside Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain and Priyamani. A remake of the 2023 Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari, it is intended to be the final film appearance of Vijay before his entry into politics, and KVN Productions' first production in Tamil.

Maanaadu () is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language science fiction political action thriller film directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi. The film stars Silambarasan, leading an ensemble cast which includes S. J. Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Manoj Bharathiraja, S. A. Chandrasekhar, Y. G. Mahendran, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash and Anjena Kirti. It follows an NRI and a police officer who are trapped in a time loop, on the day of a public conference, and forced to live the same day over and over again.
