It is owned by Nexstar Media Group alongside KIAH (channel 39), an owned-and-operated station of The CW, and Conroe-licensed Quest station KTBU (channel 55). KHOU and KTBU share studios on Westheimer Road near Uptown Houston; KHOU's transmitter is located near Missouri City, in unincorporated northeastern Fort Bend County. Houston is the largest television market where the CBS station is not owned and operated by the network.
