amniocentesis

It has other uses such as in the assessment of infection and fetal lung maturity. Prenatal diagnostic testing, which includes amniocentesis, is necessary to conclusively diagnose the majority of genetic disorders, with amniocentesis being the gold-standard procedure after 15 weeks' gestation.
prenatal testing
testing and prenatal care that focus on detecting problems with the pregnancy as early as possible
chorionic villus sampling
form of prenatal diagnosis
3D ultrasound
rendering technique in medical imaging
obstetric ultrasonography
use of medical ultrasonography in pregnancy
cardiotocography

nuchal scan
routine ultrasound done between 11 and 14 weeks pregnancy, to measure the soft tissue behind the fetal neck
fetoscopy
Fetoscopy is an endoscopic procedure during pregnancy to allow surgical access to the fetus, the amniotic cavity, the umbilical cord, and the fetal side of the placenta. A small (3–4 mm) incision is made in the abdomen, and an endoscope is inserted through the abdominal wall and uterus into the amniotic cavity. Fetoscopy allows for medical interventions such as a biopsy (tissue sample) or a laser occlusion of abnormal blood vessels (such as chorioangioma) or the treatment of spina bifida.
Leopold's maneuvers
way to determine the position of a fetus inside the woman's uterus
triple test
investigation performed during pregnancy in the 2nd trimester to check chromosomal abnormalities
percutaneous umbilical cord blood sampling
genetic test
Kleihauer–Betke test
blood test measuring fetal hemoglobin transferred from a fetus to a mother's bloodstream, often performed on Rh-negative mothers to determine the required dose of Rho(D) immune globulin to prevent Rh disease in Rh-positive children
amniotic fluid index
quantitative estimate of amniotic fluid
cell-free fetal DNA test
analysis of cell-free fetal DNA, or DNA from fetal cells that are biopsied from a pregnant woman’s blood
fetal movement
physical activity of the fetus in utero
Biophysical profile
prenatal ultrasound evaluation of fetal well-being
anomaly scan
ultrasound performed between 18-22 weeks of gestational age
Nonstress test
screening test used in pregnancy to assess fetal status by means of the fetal heart rate and its responsiveness
