Thurrock
Thurrock () is a unitary authority area with borough status in the ceremonial county of Essex, England. It lies on the north bank of the River Thames immediately east of London and has over of riverfront including the Port of Tilbury, the principal port for London. Thurrock is within the London commuter belt and is an area of regeneration within the Thames Gateway redevelopment zone. The borough includes the northern ends of the Dartford Crossing.
Tilbury
Tilbury (or Tilbury Town) is a port town on the north bank of the Thames in the borough of Thurrock in Essex, England. The town was established as separate settlement near East and West Tilbury and Tilbury Fort in the late 19th century, on land that was mainly part of the parish of Chadwell St Mary. The Gravesend–Tilbury Ferry was an ancient and important crossing point. Tilbury is part of the Port of London with a major deep-water port which contributes to the local economy. Stanford-le-Hope is a town in the borough of Thurrock in Essex, England. Often known locally simply as Stanford, the town is located east of Charing Cross in central London. At the 2021 census the Stanford-le-Hope built up area as defined by the Office for National Statistics, which includes Corringham, had a population of 29,525.

It is inside the M25 motorway which encircles London, but lies just outside the Greater London boundary. Aveley was historically a parish; the parish was abolished for civil purposes in 1936 when Aveley became part of Thurrock. At the 2021 census the built up area of Aveley had a population of 9,360.
