Kalmykia, officially the Republic of Kalmykia, is a republic of Russia, located in the Volga region of European Russia. thumb|Drokmi Sakya Yeshe Lotsāwa Drogmi (Drogmi Lotsāwa Śākya Yeshe) (c. 992–1064) transmitted the tantric system "Path and Fruit" (Lamdré) which came to be the central esoteric tradition of the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism. Drogmi was a famous scholar and translator who had studied at the Vikramashila monastery directly under Naropa, Ratnākaraśānti, Vāgīśvarakīrti and other great panditas from India for twelve years. The Sanskrit term adhiṣṭhāna (; ; kaji; àtíttǎan) is the name for blessings or inspiration that a Buddhist may receive from a Buddha, bodhisattva or guru. The Sanskrit term has various meanings in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, and can also mean the raised base on which a temple stands. In East Asian Buddhism, adhiṣṭhāna is one of the sources for the concept of a Buddha's "other-power", an idea which is central to Pure Land Buddhism.
