Principally owned by Li Shufu's PSD Investment, Geely Holding and Volvo Cars, the company is headquartered in Torslanda, outside Gothenburg, Sweden. With an "asset-light" approach in development and manufacturing, Polestar does not have its own manufacturing facility; instead it produces cars in facilities controlled by Volvo or Geely in several countries, including China, the United States, and South Korea.

VinFast Auto Ltd. is a Vietnamese multinational automotive company founded by Vingroup, one of the largest private conglomerates in Vietnam that was founded by Phạm Nhật Vượng.

Aiways Automobiles Company Ltd is a Chinese automobile manufacturer of electric cars founded in 2017. The Aiways name is derived from the phrase "Ai (meaning 'love' in Chinese) is on the way".

Canoo Inc. was an American automotive company based in Torrance, California, that developed and manufactured electric vehicles. Canoo's research and development team was based in Michigan, in the Detroit region (Auburn Hills, Livonia), and production operations in Justin, Texas. The company had plans to produce commercial electric vehicles such as vans for fleet, vehicle rental, and ride-sharing services. On January 17, 2025, Canoo filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
