A strip of copper alloy sheet with a single oval piercing in the centre. The two lower corners are curved, making it D-shaped in plan. Copper alloy strips of this shape are likley to be armour plating from military uniform. In this case, Loica Squamanta from a Roman date is probable, alough its similarity to armour from a post-medieval chin strap cannot be ignored.
