This is a lithograph print fo a formal animal portrait, 'The Castle Howard Oxen', painted in 1840 by H. Strafford. The lithograph was drawn on stone by J. W. Giles, and the print was done by C. Hullmandel, of London. It was published John Moore, printseller to the Duke of Orleans. The sub-title on the print reads: 'Bred and Fed by the Earl of Carlisle at Castle Howard Yorkshire, under the superintendence of Mr Henderson. These celebrated animals were by his Lordship's Bull Rockingham 2550. T
