Medieval whetstone, 49mm long and 15mm wide. The object is made from a metamorphic rock and has a sub rectangualr form with rounded edges, worn down from use. It has a 10mm hole in the centre of one end. It matches one in 'finds from medieval exeter'. ref:Allan.1984.'medieval & post medieval finds from Exeter' pp 31 & 295
