A copper coin of early medieval date. The coin is a Byzantine follis (equivalent to 40 nummi) of emperor Maurice (582-602 AD). It was made at Kyzikos (present-day Turkey) in the second regnal year (583/584 AD), in the second (= B) workshop (officina) of that mint. It is slightly worn but has good surface detail.
