View of the four-stream fountain (Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi) in Piazza Navona in Rome from the east. Four male figures around an artificial rock depict the rivers Danube, Ganges, Nil and Río de la Plata, which stood for one of the four continents known at the time. In the middle of the well rises the Obelisk Agonalis, which carries a dove with oil branch in its beak as a crowned crook.
