A fragment of Roman ceramic mosaic. The tessera are set with a white plaster on top of opus siginum. The fragment contains two different types of stone; the four white tessera are probably white crystalline marble and the two grey are probably Wealden shale. The opus siginum has the characteristic pieces of red ceramic material and small gravel within a grey mortar. The fragment measures 51.4mm x 44.1mm x 26.8mm and weighs 61.90g.
