Copper-alloy nummus of Constans II (AD 641-668), Standing emperor and large M, Constantinople, possibly AD 655/6. cf. Dumbarton Oaks Catalogue Vol II, Part 2, p. 452, 75-76. The coin is overstruck or double-struck and this identification is tentative. This is a very unusual coin to find in Suffolk, unless it is a modern loss (e.g. from a coin collector). Particularly unusual is the fact that it is not pierced or mounted in any way.
