Breast plate of Japanese samurai armour. A picture was sent to Thom Richardson, FSA, who is a specialist of Oriental Armour and Weapons at the Royal Armouries in Leeds. His verdict is: "It looks, as far as one can tell from a photo, like the upper three plates of the breastplate of the nuinobe-do from a sugake odoshi tosei gusoku (sparsely laced modern armour).
